Sondeen,
The intermittent electrical system problems were driving me crazy. Mechanically, the car is quite sound. Well, lots of rattles, but the 3 dr "coupe" never was that quiet.
The dash instruments recently went black due to a foglight/headlight short, the gas gauge sender was going bad, the ventilation fan cut in and out intermittently, one stereo amplifier channel went belly up, it's on it's 3rd alternator, etc. etc.
Of course I have fixed these as they came up, but the last 5k miles have required a lot of downtime for a car that I need to get to work 5-6 days/week.
But each time something else happens, it's "here we go again....."
When I was younger, I could handle working 6 days and on the 7th day fixing the car. Not any more. I would like to do something other than diagnose the stupid GM-Opel electrical system on my weekends.
I also have to admit that it is a great time to buy cars that were 24, 27 or 36 month leased, and some have caught my eye.
