My '99 (red DIC) had similar symptoms as well. It started with some 'bucking' with mild acceleration - like pulling out of the parking lot. Felt like a really bad misfire. It would also NOT do this at idle.
At first I tried changing the plugs since they were a little old anyway and I THOUGHT it took care of it because it seemed to go away for about a week, but started doing it again.
No codes being thrown, by the way. On a hunch, I got a new DIC. I didn't want to chance a used one as there would be no way to know if the used one was truly good so I'd be back at square one. If it still did it with the new one, I figured I could just keep it as a spare for any infamous sudden DIC death situation.
New DIC fixed the problem since...
