Clutch cable replacement (Update)

Well, just like to say, "Thanks" for the input about replacing/using the manual adjustable cable. Definitely don't want to attach the cable adjustable sleeve onto the metal clip between the firewall and the bellhousing. Makes the angle of the cable too extreme. I use white lithium grease to really lube the cable nicely. Checked the free-play at the clutch fork and NOT the pedal.I wanted to be absolutely sure that the throwout bearing wasn't engaged while driving. If I had know when I purchased this 96/900s that the clutch cable was the problem and not the clutch itself, I would have replaced it when I purchased the car. Now! the car shift into all gears without any chatter. I'm buying another spare cable to keep in the trunk. Not too hard to chang out.
