900S No start; bad cps?

3 days ago, went to start my 94 900s. It would turn over, but not start. I began the checklist to eliminate the usual suspects. I checked the fuel pump. Didn't get any operation out of it. I checked the voltage at the pump. There was no voltage whatsoever. I proceeded to check/ replace the fuel pump relay. Still no power. I also checked the fuel pump fuse; no voltage there either. I did some research on this forum and it seems that there is no movement with the tach when starting the saab. I inspected the CPS and it looks as if PS fluid or oil leaked all over it and caused the wiring harness to come apart. It appears that the ground wire is not connected to the actual CPS unit. I was curious; if I grounded the wire at the connector, would the CPS function at least temporarily until I can order a new one?
