I just replaced my exhaust on a 96/900s. From the back of the cat to the tail pipe, is was about $550. Use some muffler paste for between the mating surface of each pipe. Get new rubber hangers. My new exhaust pipes had a ball and flange design instead of one pipe slipping into each other. This makes is very easy to disassemble later. Hang everything first and then shim each pipe where it needs to be before tightening the clamps. If the old rubber hangers look reusable, keep them as spares in a zip-loc bag. I think the clamp were cheaper at the exhaust suppliers. If your close to lower Delaware, give a shout! I have a car lift and all the necessary tools. Makes the job that much easier. I bought this car used and the PO must have taken the car to a muffler shop that bends it's own pipe. The shop welded all the joint and they rusted within three years. The welding caused the aluminum/galvanized coating to burn off and prematurely rot the exhaust system. The new exhaust has improved preformance.
