I think you need to get the air out of the slave before you put the transmission back. I have a couple of PDF's sent to me by someone on this board regarding this, and I think that's what it said. Anyhow, I attached a cable to the pedal, tied the cable to the headrest so the cable would go down (or use a helper). Then I bled backwards pushing fluid through the valve with a tube and a syringe. All was well after the second time. I recall reading someone going to a very steep hill and with the nose of the car pointing down, pressing the clutch in and out many times. Helped me a little bit, but I had to rebleed. Just make sure if you are using the syringe method, that you get it in one go. That is, you cannot stop to refill the tube with fluid as you will get air in it again.
