A couple items come to mind:
Dirty and or leaky fuel injectors can begin to flood the engine and make starts difficult. However, when this is the case you'll usually have more difficult starts within minutes, but after several hours pass you'll still get a long crank time, but shorter than is was within minutes. The fact that you say engine temperature has no affect tells me this is not a likely cause for you.
There's a check valve in the fuel line that is designed to maintain fuel pressure. I've never experienced this, but apparently when they go bad the result is long crank times. I have no idea where the check valve is located, but it seems plausible the impact of hitting a deer could have caused it to stick.
If the fuel filter is dirty, this could result in long crank times; you should consider the possibility it's just a coincidence the problem developed when it did.
I think you should make sure you have high quality gas of the highest octane available, add a bottle of techron fuel system cleaner, and read your spark plugs to see if the engine is running properly, then clean them and check the gaps before reinstalling them. If the problem persists after doing all this and running through an entire fresh tank of fuel with that cleaner, you may consider replacing the fuel filter, and potentially that check valve.
