Big bubble in tire from pot hole - baby got new shoes

Today I went to Americas Tire to get my new wheels installed. The plan was to reuse the two good Michelins that came with the car, and get two new ones.
As I was at the car with the service writer, he said: "You really have to replace that front tire - that bubble is dangerous!" (or something like that).
I looked twice, and there it was: A big bulge in the side wall of the left front tire!!! Holy guacamole - I had never seen that before!
Last Saturday I had hit a pothole - probably the biggest in my life - on Thornton Ave. in Fremont, CA. It was not only about 2" deep, but it seemed like 2 feet long. By the time I saw it, and realized what it was, it was too late to get around. I checked the wheel shortly after and didn't notice anything wrong... Now I know I didn't look hard enough.
Anyway, this baby now has four new rims and Michelin tires. No hammer-on weights on the rim - only tape weights on the inside. The road force balance broke, but they will redo the balancing as soon as it's fixed.
Michelin has a $70 mail-in rebate for a complete set of tires, and the road force balancing costs enough that it wasn't really worth reusing the two good old tires. They were nice enough to give me a little credit for those.
So, hopefully I won't hit another pothole anytime soon - if I don't, I think I'm done with wheels and tires for quite some time...
