how often the light blinks and under what conditions. I suspect that you'll find it flickers on and off a lot under full throttle/boost.
With the Aero ECU in my '96 9K CSE I can sort of tell what's going on by how far my boost gauge goes into the red, but not specifically when it's backing off due to detonation. On a coolish day with a well-adapted ECU and fresh 93 I get maybe 1/4 into the red.
The gauge in my '99 9-3 (daughter's ride) seems to indicate a bit differently even though it's still a T5 system, but that's an automatic so there's another variable in the mix.
