Yes, they did get purchased by Sears a few years ago, but that hasn't changed the fact they the do alignments well IME. I started doing business with them pre-internet back when they were independent. I haven't seen any change in quality or management / sales style or any move to a Sears like commision sales based model with ex-insurance salesmen trying to push you into things you don't need (not that I'd be buying anyway). Just knowledgable tire guys and qualified alignment mechanics, same model as before. The tire installers are monkeys like at every tire dealer, but I don't use them for that. As for quality varying locally - sure, but that's true with corporate owned, franchieses, and independents.
They've always been honest and easy to work with, never baliking at my anal retentive manner when it comes to the details. They always print the specs so you know where you stand before and after. No one else does that without pulling teeth. I like to see what's what with the numbers so I can keep an eye on how the suspension might have changed and those "unadjustable" factors that most shops ignore which can actually be corrected with shims or tweaks. They also use the latest Hunter equipment, which I don't find at any Saab indys - and most indy's farm out alignment to some backwater shop they favor that may or may not have a clue.
So, I don't use them for anything else, but for alignment I've been very pleased.
