CEL Cured-Anders Strikes Again Posted by Roger D [Email] ![]() ![]() |
So I get this sweet 1999 9-3 for $1K. Only 65,000 miles. Started on the east coast so a few corroded things underneath. Nothing a few trips to Pick-n-pull won't cure. Spurting coolant out of the lower driver's side junction of the head/block. Leaking so bad I gamble on the car and have it towed home without driving it. Head is unwarped. only a little coolant in the oil-looking good. Flarp in the the HG and she starts right up but the CEL won't go out. So I'm thinking a little coolant on the 0xygen sensors will burn off in a few miles. 150 miles later still coding so I borrow a OBD2 tester and find both oxygen sensors are pegged at 0.0 volts. Weeks of messing around. Printing out Alldata wiring diagrams that print so small we can't read the numbers etc. Finally last night I do my 3rd or 4th TSN search and find a Anders post from years ago about O2 sensor wiring colors. His comments state the voltage source is via fuse 38. We were reading the Alldata charts as fuse #26. I look for fuse # 38-Duhhhh. It's not there! Plug one in, clear codes and the sensors are swinging voltage nicely. Thanks Anders
