Actually, disconnect the hose from the gauge and you have a standard male coupler that be inserted into your air hose. On the other end, (yes, screw-in type) unscrew the adapter that screws into the spark plug hole and you'll see the one-way valve which can be removed with the small tool sold in auto parts stores. Replace the adaptor and it's ready. And it need not be screwed in very tightly with the rubber o-ring it has there. Since the gauge is not used at all, I had to go by the gauge on the compressor. I should add that I honestly don't know if it's a good idea or not. I wondered if there was a seal somewhere that could be blown out by abnormal pressure. So far, everything seems ok.
