Maintenance and upgrade day today...

One of my friends is a big Saab fan, engineer, and hobby LeMons team technical advisor. She had offered me to come to her shop and help me with some work on my 2000 Saab 9-3 SE, which just broke 50k miles this week.
So, today we did:
- Replace front brake rotors and pads
- Bleed brake system with super blue brake fluid
- Install Taliaferro Steering Rack Brace (required grinding one of the strut tower holes a bit to make it fit)
- Install Taliaferro rear sway bar
- Replace spark plugs
Unfortunately, it started raining on my way home, so I could not test the Taliaferro upgrades, yet. What I can say is that the car feels tight, but not stiffer over bumps (which was my biggest worry - I think the SE suspension is already ridiculously uncomfortable on short freeway bumps)
I also need to wait and see, if the car runs better when cold. The new spark plugs we installed are the copper types that were recommended here.
Brakes are Genuine Saab rotors and low dust pads. We'll see how those behave after they have been bedded in better. The first few miles were a bit scary to say the least, but I expected that and drove accordingly.
Left to do: I have a new Genuine Saab thermostat that I need to install. I hope the engine will then warm-up more quickly.
I'm very happy with what we got done today, and I learned a lot in the process!
