Lower control arms 99 9-3 CV, and more... Posted by jdlincoln [Email] (#640) [Profile/Gallery] (more from jdlincoln) on Sat, 17 Apr 2010 13:42:21 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Wife's CV due to get back on the road after winter storage. Has 110K, originally from Texas so zero rust. Tore the front end apart today to see why it shimmies, shakes and wears tires so badly. It already has the Genuine Saab 6 point brace, Rear bar, rack brace and poly bushings in the current lower control arm. Did that 20K ago.
Discovered that the upper strut bearings have some side play, one strut is leaking and the ball joints are shot. Planning to replace all.
Seems that eeuro has 3 prices for lower control arms. $99 for scan tec, $139 for Febi/Bilstein and $269 for Genuine Saab. That's a huge difference and I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with either/all and could offer an opinion? Seems like Genuine Saab has Koni inserts for the same price as eeuro no name so will probably go that route for the inserts.
She only puts 3-5K/yr on the car and loves it. Does not push the car. The way it is, I can't stand it, which is the reason for all the aftermarket suspension aids. I'm a 9K guy.
Any opinions, advice or thoughts will be appreciated. As I said, being a 9K guy, I don't have much experience with the GM 9-3.
Thanks in advance,
JD
