I posted a while back with an issue of my remote setting the alarm but the doors not locking. I could hear the solenoids moving in the doors lightly but there was no mechanical action at the locks. The problem was intermittent, then became full time.

Today I had a brilliant idea: I'd had one lock that stopped going down all the way last year. Lubricating the rod/lever mechanism inside the door corrected it. I began to wonder that if perhaps one of them could not move, perhaps it would affect both of them. I lubed both sides and Viola! - there are both (2 door) working fine again.

They are easy to lube: put the windows down and open the door. Shine a flash light down the inch long by 1/4" wide gap in the top seal at the top/rear of the door. Peer down into the door and you will see the rods and bushings and levers. Once you figure out where they are, point a spray lubricant hose down there and spray some oil down onto the mechanism. Operate the latch manually a couple times. I used WD-40, which I think will wash out, so I will likely get back in there with something more durable.

I'd actually recommend lubing them to everyone... takes just a minute and sooner or later they will likely need it.
