'97 900 convertible.
I need help from someone who knows their way around the convertible roof.
A while back my tonneau started to descend a little too quickly at the end of the closing... seemed almost to slam shut. Not long after, the motor started to chatter. I had a renforcement kit on there but it turned out to be bending at the center of the alloy motor casting and I had small & large gear damage. U-joint is in good shape.
I rebuilt the tonneau with some replacement gears. Installed it and had a local guy reset the computer and adjust it. It works great now, except it still descends the last little bit too fast and seems to close hard.
Is this adjustable in any way? Is it strictly gravity controlling the rate or does something counter balance the descent that can be tuned? Any ideas?
Thanks,
