Lots of Dash Lights! Brake, ABS, TCS, Central Warning

Driving to work this morning my dash board lit up (2x) with the Brake, ABS, TCS OFF and Central Warning indicators and stayed that way for 15-20 seconds - both times occurred about 30 minutes apart. Then, while running an errand for lunch they came on again...with the addition of the Check Engine indicator...and stayed that way until I parked a few minutes later. When I restarted the car the only thing still on is the Check Engine. I popped the hood to see if anything obvious was up and did check the brake fluid which looked full (it was flushed within the past 12 months).
Any general comments or ideas? I plan on dropping it at the shop tonight for a professional opinion, but any input in advance is appreciated. Not sure whether this makes a difference, but the brake pedal has seemed a bit spongy lately with a suggestion that I need a new master cylinder and there may be a vacuum leak with is causing some idling problems.
