I have a 2000 9-3 SE automatic 2.0L 4 cylinder. I started having problems with the engine light coming on and the car goes into limp mode. I tried the battery trick and it doesn't work. Battery is good, I had it checked.
I took the car and had it tested. It came up with the OEM codes P0705 and P1260. So, I called the parts dept of my local dealership. They say "oh, we have aftermarket parts and can't cross reference these codes, you have to bring it in to the service dept.". So, I call the guy who tested it and he looks up the codes. P0705 is the failed transmission range sensor and P1260 is the fuel pump speed control module. I call the parts dept back. I asked for these parts to find out a price and if they are in stock. I was given the response "oh there are thousands of those...you need to bring the car in to our service dept.".
Where can I get these parts without the "honey, why don't you bring the car in?" response? Any tips on replacing these sensors? Thanks for the info and putting up with my mini-rant.
