I agree that the torx bolts are stripable and using regular hex bolts could be useful. The only thing I would like manufacturers to do is to put anti-seize compound on the bolts particularly around liquid access points to the engine, such as the thermostat housing. I'm not sure why torx bolts are used, but I keep a bunch of replacement hex bolts on hand when working on the engine and tranny (e.g.differential housing covers).
Your ideas of knowledge sharing could be very useful to SAAB. I just don't know how to convey the vast wealth of real-world knowledge this forum has to saab, so that they can succeed in the future.
