I'm going to start off by saying I'm stumped.
Decided to make a run up to Target this morning and when I tried to start the car, nothing. No clicking, no lights, nothing. I popped the hood and as soon as I began lifting the hood the radio came on?? Went back to the car and the clock read 12:00 AM. Tried the key again, no crank and all lights went out completely. Figured the battery was gone and took it up to the local Autozone. Checked out OK, so I returned home. Put the battery back in and decided to give it another try before having the wife help me with the jumper cables. The car fired right up immediately (less than 1 sec).
The part that troubles me is that the car fired up immediately. The last three weeks I've had a very long crank (3-4 seconds) before the engine caught. Cranking was always strong so I assumed it was low fuel pressure and can't think of why "rebooting" would have any effect on how long it takes the engine to catch. Did I overlooking something?
