The RD contains desiccant material. It's function is draw whatever residual moisture there may be in the refrigerant and hold it. Any moisture in the refrigerant reduces the effectiveness of the system because the water vapor cannot be compressed like refrigerant can. Residual moisture can also allow the formation of acids in the system which will corrode the metals.
You SHOULD always replace the RD anytime you have the system open for any prolonged period such as repair - let alone having it open for 2 weeks. In that time, the desiccant likely became saturated (especially if it's been humid) rendering the desiccant either useless or almost useless - especially if it was already the original stock RD.
What you may be experience MAY be due to moisture residual moisture in the system due to the poor effectiveness of the RD (there are other things that can affect it). As long as you're sure the system is not leaking, throw a new RD in, vacuum, then recharge and see.
You want to be sure of the "dryness" in the system as acids developed in the refrigerant can eventually eat through your new condenser (or lines, or destroy you compressor, etc.)
