I just worked on one of mine.
I would suspect that the red stripe is positive and black is the ground. (If the opposite is true, the window simply won't work. No sparks will fly or blow out your new motor.)
I would suggest using the quick splice (shown as pink if you scroll down a screen on the link) and put a wire between your new regulator wires and the OEM wires. Then use electrical tape to tape over any exposed connectors and wires.
If you have enough lead length on the new unit you can use it directly instead of a a short wire. Saves a splice too. —The quick splices are meant to insulate the end of a wire if you connect it to another wire. All you have to do is use a nail or awl or similar implement to remove the little plastic wire "stop" so you can line up the two wires side by side without cutting.
That way you don't have to cut any wires. And if you find that the wires weren't correct you can pry the quick splice connecters off with a needlenose pliers and reuse them.
I got my quick splices at a big box hardware store so you can get them anywhere.
Or you could just cut the end off the plugs and wire them directly. the above is nice 'just in case'.
