Not so good news to report. For the first time since dealing with noticable loss of coolant in the resevoir, the engine is exhibiting telltale signs of an internal coolant leak. Upon starting my car this morning since parking it after work yesterday afternoon, it blew plumes of white smoke out the exhaust and ran rough for a minute or two.
I immediately decided to drive it to the dealer to have a diagosis (my Indy is on vacation to the end of the month)
I don't know if this is normal under these circumstances, but after driving a few minutes, the exhaust was "clean" from the white smoke, however still smelled of coolant.
The dealer will perform a pressure check of the cylinder head and the turbo for a possible gasket leak. If it turns out to be the head gasket, I was quoted $807 for labor plus parts +/- $100, and for the turbo, $570 plus a new turbo +/- $800.
How do these $ charges compare to other Saabnet members experiences?
Thanks for your help!!!!
