I agree! Dmitri's site is what I used to do my hydraulic clutch upgrade. It was a pain, but worth it. And "yes" as Jeremy said, you have to remove the tranny to upgrade the throwout bearing from mechanical, to hydraulic. The only thing I did differently from Dmitri's instructions, was to use some plastic disks and a vice to press out the differential seals (rather then pry them out). I also used anaerobic sealant around the holes the seals pushed into, as well as some anaerobic sealant on the flat-machined mating surfaces between the differential housing and the differential seal mounting plates.
As for remounting the tranny when you separate the tranny from the engine, mark the edge of the flywheel to note the flywheel's position on the side of the engine as soon as you remove the tranny. The reason for doing this is so that the male/female splined 'axle' will line up when you put the tranny back on. If the flywheel has rotated slightly after tranny removal, the splines won't match up and reinstalling the tranny will take longer. I also recommend using 3 jacks to install the tranny. Left/right and centre. The splined axle has to line up 'exactly' with the hole in the crankshaft. Having 3 jacks gives you the control to accomplish that.
(Visual: make a fist with one hand, then open the fingers slightly to make a 'hole' (engine/flywheel). Then poke your index finger (tranny part) of the other hand into the 'hole'. It's easy when they line up. But imagine if the index finger isn't lined up exactly with the hole... and it won't go in; or if the orientation is at angles to each other. Now add splines to the 'hole' and finger. If the valley's and ridges of the splines on the finger and hole don't match up, you have to rotate the hole (flywheel) to get the splines to match up (and you'll be doing this "blind" because the tranny will be almost back on).
I've done this job three times on different saabs.... it's doable. Just need patience and beer!
