Sounds like the CPS (crankshaft position sensor) is starting to fail. When the engine is hot, an electrical connection in the sensor opens up so it does not function properly to allow the car to start. When it cools down again, it will work. Search this board for CPS and you will see lots of discussion on this. It is about a $70 part from eEuroparts or one of the other parts suppliers. It is not hard to replace, but hard to get to from the top of the engine bay...easier from below. Easy for a mechanic to replace. (I had to replace the one on my 2000 9-3 a year ago.)
