First bad sign - I get into my car, turn on the radio for about a minute as I look something up on my phone, and the battery dies (dim lights and nothing but clipping when I start the car). The car starts fine with a jump and there are no apparent problems for the rest of the day.
The next day, the car dies on me as I'm driving. Similar to the day before, all I get is clicking when I start the car.
I've had the battery tested and it is fine. It's only two years old.
My fist thought was that a bad alternator is causing the problem. However, it's odd that the car started and ran fine with a jump. It also started several times without a jump and didn't give me any problems. Are there any other possilbilites?
Also, when should I move on from this car? Mileage is not that high for the year (135K). I've sunk way more than $1,000 into it over the past year. If I could be making car payments on something newer that would give me less trouble, I would rather do that.
