I have been trying to change my NSS after getting a couple P0705 codes. I found some good directions to change my old NSS out with a new NSS, but now am extremely frustrated and need some help.
Here is a summary of what's going on:
-Car in P, turn the ignition ON, CEL/gear lights on, read code P0705
-Clear the code, and the dash indicator moves to D
-Start the car, dash in D; move selector to R and the reverse light come on, I feel it engage, but the dash remains in D
--move to N, rev lights off, feel it disengage but the dash remains in D
--move to D, dash in D, feel it engage
--move to 3, dash goes to 2
--move to 2, dash stays in 2
--move to 1, dash stays in 2
--move to P, dash stays in 2
with the car in P, I roll it a little and hear it "click" (got from cable adjustment procedure)
-After the 'click' I go through all the gears and the dash doesn't change.
Turn the car OFF, in P, and when back to ON, lights/code back and I start with without clearing. I step through the gears, get the rev lights and feel the engaged/disengage when I should (in/out of R/D/etc).
Turn the car OFF again, back to ON and clear the code and start. The code does not return until I move the selector into R, and the dash follows, but then returns to P and does not move from there. The TB does not indicate it is in limp home mode (i.e. the little arm doesn't move with the big plastic wheel), but when I back out of the garage and then drive back in, it is definitely not in 1st gear.
Turned the car OFF, back to ON, start and clear the code with the engine running and get the following
--Selector R -> dash D
--N,D->D
--3,2->2
--1->1
--2->2
--D, N ->2
--R->P
I then turn the car OFF, back to ON and no codes/lights. Start, no codes/lights. The codes/lights don't come back until I move the selector and once they come back, the dash goes to P, stays there, and the car seems to be in limp home mode (not in 1st gear) but the TB wheel/arm aren't moving together like they would in limp home mode...
I don't know what to do next! Is there a way to test the NSS to see if it is bad? At least my old NSS wasn't causing the car to be "drive" as though it was in limp home mode (i.e. all gears at all the right times).
Thanks for any help.
