I just bought a 1999 SAAB 9-3se. im really glad i bought this car, its in great condition and im glad to have got my hands on one thats similair to my 99 9-3 that i just lost in a car wreck. It has some dealership performance mods on it that were done a few years ago which put it up to 240HP. The thing is that it does seem sluggish, the turbo boost gauge doesnt show much more boost than into the lower part of the yellow and the car does not seem to have the get up and go of my previous stock saab.
Then yesterday I did an oil/filter change using mobil 1 synthetic 10w/30. I also cleaned the air filter. I took it out after that and pushed it through first and second gear and then stopped. I drove it again about 20minutes later and sensed something was different. The sound coming from the turbo has changed and the car has no power in 2nd,3rd,4th and 5th. Its still quite responsive in 1st gear but still nothing like it should be. When i drive and accelerate, there is a high pitched air sucking sound and the boost gauge doesn't go even into the yellow. it just barely touches the yellow, not going anywhere near the middle of the yellow or even close to the orange/red zone on the gauge. from the performance mods on this saab, it should have some serious get up and go and im just not feeling it.
any help and advice would be much appreciated. long live saab!!
