Unfortunately at this point I think it might be a wiring or module problem and not the switch.
Maybe the wire harness is corroded around and under the battery?
Check that you haven't pushed any pins out in the wire harness connector.
Just check so that you have proper negative and positive cables and no corrosion at either ends and that the battery is fully charged.
It could how the DICE, TCM and MIU is talking to each other and you would need the Tech 2 scanner to see if it is any codes in those modules and also read live data between them.
