Power steering line fix

My power steering pressure line was leaking where it routes in front of the radiator. No problem I thought, a new line for a 94 900 w a V-6 should be reasonable. There were several problems. A new line was in excess of $400. and not available at Carquest or NAPA. Fortunately for less than $20. a fix was made.
The steel line had a bad case of the rusties and the line was leaking more and more. I cut the line after the rubber hose part and cut where it was solid, the second cut was near the battery tray, where the line again was solid. I cleaned up the steel lines and attached a 3/8" brass compression fitting to each cut line. You have to hog out the compression nut to fit over the 10mm line and expand the ferrel a like amount to fit the line. Tighten the compression fittings. Then cut the ends off a 3/8" steel brake line (48" worked in my instance) Bend the line to fit the space and use the compression fittings to complete the repair. It may not be factory, but it doesnt leak and doesnt break the budget.
