Rust....and the Viggen

I'm fortunate to to be driving my Viggen in the winter and I say that because with LSD and Hakkas it makes a very fun snowmobile, however there is always the toll that the heavily salted roads take. I must say that I'm amazed at how very little rust there is on my car but like good old Neil, I believe it never sleeps. I'm doing everything possible to prevent it and stop it if it starts. So far I've stopped some under the hatch spoiler, two small quarter sized spots inside the rear wheel well lips and on the right side hood hinge bracket.
To prevent it, I watch other Viggens and 9.3 to see where they rust so I can pay special attention to those spots. I've also disassembled an older Viggen for parts and learned a lot about what's happening under some of the cladding.
I'd like to know where your Viggen is rusting? How do you prevent and stop rust??
My findings on spots that rust loves on the disassembled Viggen were:
- seams under the front fenders (can access by removing the plastic liners)
- the mounting studs for the side skirts (must be removed)
- around the rubber floor pan plugs
- door bottoms (make sure rubber seals are always clean to prevent paint removal)
- floor pan under rear seats
- front edge of hood
- under heater box cover at bottom of windshield
I'd love to hear what you've found so far....
