Start with left. Loosen axle nut with big breaker bar and pipe. Raise car. Remove wheel. Detach sway bar. Loosen ball joint nut. Spend f**king 2 hrs with PB blaster and a hammer trying to get it free. Give up. Detach control arm at chassis. Ball joint falls out. Thanks, *now* you decide to free up.

Whack axle with rubber mallet. Nothing. Hammer. Nothing. Small sledge. Nothing. Drive down to auto parts store and borrow an axle/hub puller. crank on that thing with a breaker bar like there's no tomorrow, and the axle slowly slides out.

Pry inner driver from tranny. Clean everything up and install new axle assembly, this time with anti-seize on the hub splines. Loctite red on nuts. Stand on 18" breaker bar to tighten axle nut (170lbs x 1.5 ft = 255 ft-lbs. Close enough.)

Test drive. Noise still there. F**k.

Repeat on right side (except not replacing inner driver/intermediate shaft.) Same issues with ball joint and axle.

Test drive. Noise still there. F**k.

Replace brakes. New Brembo rotors, new ceramic pads. Needed those anyway.

Test drive. Noise still there. F**k.

Give up. Don't have patience for anything else.
