Excellent my Viggen is ALIVE!!

I chose to drop the tank, though initially I was considering cutting an access hole in the floor. I didn't want to use tin snips, which would warp the metal a good deal I am sure. I would have used a nibbler if I had access to one, that would have worked nicely to cut a perfectly round access hole above the pump. Make a plastic cover for the access hole when done and it would have looked original.

I've dropped tanks before but never on a Saab, found this post http://saabnet.com/tsn/bb/NG900/index.html?bID=247901 before I started to give me an idea on what to expect.

Took me about 2 hours from start to finish, over all it was fairly simple.
I had to drain about 7 gallons of fuel, which seemed like it took 30 minutes using the 3/8 OD line mentioned in the link. I have some very small straight-slot screwdrivers (electronics tweakers) which I used to release the locking tabs on the vent lines.

I did buy the retaining ring removal tool from eEuroparts (~$30) IMHO it was well worth it. Certainly I probably could have fabricated something that would have worked but that ring was on there quite tight, I'm glad I had the proper tool.
