I test drove a 2002 today, 71K miles. The tranny was a little sticky coming out of 4th. It's not stuck there, but it's just a little sticky pulling it out. Feels like someone put some weak glue on it that you have to break free... or maybe like it's held magnet in place by a magnet, then it's fine. The problem can be reproduced at speed or while sitting still (put it in 3rd, put it in 4th, then take it out of 4th... it's sticky coming out). Seems to go in to all gears with ease... maybe a little tight into 2nd, but nothing too severe. Thoughts?
Second, at the clutches in these adjustable for free play. This one had very little... clutch was engaging (or disengaging, depending on how you look at it :-) as soon as you put pressure on the pedal. There's no free play. Is this adjustable at the pedal on these cars... or at the tranny?
Thanks,
