Well after finally getting my 2000 9-3 back from the alternator replace, I had about 30 miles of trouble free driving. Then, I noticed some running problems. Also noticed that some of the very small vac lines off the throttle body were old and one had blown off the small device they connect to attached to the upper firewall driver's side. I replaced the blown off one, because it kept blowing off. Quite quickly replaced all three. However, I still keep getting the mentioned codes.

Also, things are getting worse. The car doesn't seem to want to idle properly. 500rpm or so, and the A/C will barely run at idle. I've been driving it through this trying to figure out where it was headed. After about another 60 or so miles of driving , shifting has become VERY difficult. This is a 5 speed manual. I thought it had something to do with idle speed, but now I'm not sure. Took me almost 15 mins of wrenching and rolling back in driveway just to get in reverse. Hard to shift even when cruising. Have to quickly "slam" the car into the next gear. Never had this problem before. Car is also stalling out at freeway speeds. I'll roll to a dead stop, restart and continue driving. Just all kinds of strange intermittent problems.

I notice a defined clicking noise coming from the throttle body under the black plastic cover mostly when key is turned just before start. Clicks about 3 times and stops. When I clear the codes, they come back after about 5 miles of driving.

Only thing I did after all the alternator repair was a pretty thorough degrease and pressure wash - including the throttle body area. Also drove the car a bit hard around the block, etc. to make sure things were back in shape. I have disco'd and reco'd all but one plug going to the throttle body. I've heard about this "limp home mode" thing tied to these codes, but have no idea about that or if/how I was in it?

Thanks for any ideas here!
