This happened to me in my viggen, but when I heard it start to choke I shut it off and pushed it home which was down the block. I removed the plugs, IC (found maybe a quart of water in there), removed all ic pipes and intake pipes, removed air cleaner which was soaked; took heat gun and dried the top of the pistons and the inside of the intake manifold. These all had a little water in it them. After that I let car sit for a week before I put it back together. Added a cap of oil to each cylinder and cranked over a few times. Put plugs back in and she fired right up. Do not try and start car until you have removed all water that you can find, if you do you can bend valves, rods, you name it.
Good luck
