Engine management. T5 then T7. Saab switched mid-year 1999. So the later 1999 SE cars coming off the line would have a different turbo and used the T7 instead of T5. That is my basic understanding of it.
I bought a Viggen driveshaft from Goldwing and was very happy with the entire experience. However, they did not know the left and right were the same part. Which is a bit of an obscure thing to know, but I knew since I had researched it a bunch before hand. But I can still recommend them as a good place to get used parts. But it is up to you to get the right part. I think I understand the differences involved and I believe by 2001 there shouldn't be any doubt, but you may want to do more research before pulling the trigger.
