BS hit the nail on the head. I had the same problem in my 01 9-3. I slipped a thin plastic ruler (similar to a credit card, just longer), pushed the radio back in almost to the point of it locking. Made sure the ruler was as far back as I could get it. Pulled the radio straight out with no problem.
The radio cage metal had sagged at the top. To avoid this problem in the future I put black electrical tape on the top of the radio near the rear of the radio where the back panel of the radio wraps around to the top of the radio forming a ridge. This is where mine was getting caught. The tape smoother out the transistion so there was no edge to get stuck on the cage.
