Drove it some more this morngin. I left it outside last nite and this morngin started it and let it run while I collected my things for work. Drove at 60 for the first 9 miles and then hit the express bypass and took it to 70. Druing this time the accelerator pedal was stiff and difficult to depress. I then heard what sounded like 4 double clicks from the left side of the steering/fuse panel (USA spec) and then the TCS off and Check engine indicators illuminated. Push in clutch and let her drop to idle and she was fine but a bit high 1100 rpm. Still at 70 MPH let her idel and turned on climate control and she dropped to about 500 rpm but still ran. Turned climate off and back to 1100 rpm idle. Accel pedal now had little resistance to depressing, which is normal. Later when I hit open straight took it to about 3000 RPM in 5th and depressed clutch and she dropped to 1100 rpm. I'm thinking loose connector in dash. In past the Check engine would come on when the Temp gage stopped working. When this happeded, the climate control (AC in summer) would stop working. Had it checked and the cooling bypass vavle was replaced. wondering if symptoms could be common to something in dash.
