This is how did it Posted by hgilbert [Email] (#189) [Profile/Gallery] (more from hgilbert) on Wed, 28 Dec 2011 17:14:35 In Reply to: Leaking Coolant Hose, hgilbert [Profile/Gallery] , Tue, 27 Dec 2011 15:15:47 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Using a combination of the suggestions made by Jeremy and Anders, I did the following to gain access to the intake manifold side of the hose: Removed the IAC valve by disconnecting both sides from the throttle body.
Unbolted the wiring harness bracket from the fuel rail. This gave enough slack in the wiring harness to enable moving it enough to gain better access to the intake hose connection. Lastly, I removed the engine lifting eye to the right of the oil filler cap. With a 1/4" drive 7mm socket, universal and 6" extensin, I was able to work the manifold end of the hose from below by reaching under the intake manifold, and from above by reaching with the socket and extension. Not too bad overall. Thanks guys for your input.
