Anders: I had no idea if you pull on the hoses that you could move the heater core inside and disturb the o-rings. That's good to know.
Savary, my plans were to document all of this since there isn't anything on it online. I have taken a bunch of pictures and will compile them on a site sometime this Spring. Don't have access to them at the moment.
It's not too difficult, but is time consuming. You have to remove the whole center console (not hard, but have to be careful). I highly suggest not doing this in cold weather. Since you're dealing with a lot of plastic bits, there is a much greater chance of them breaking due to the cold. If it's not leaking badly, you can keep going. But if it is...you might have to attend to it.
