I have a 2001 9-3 (base) that intermittently will turn over but won't start or it will start be wants to die while idling. My friend has been working on it for me and thinks it's the throttle body.
Here are the issues it's having:
First the car wouldn't start and my friend found a vacuum hose was coming loose and a one way valve on the same hose had holes in it. (Sorry I don't know what this hose is called but it was to the right of the TB and had two valve on it) He replaced the hose and valve and it seemed to fix it. Then the car wouldn't start again. My friend found instructions online to reset the throttle body from limp home mode. After that it idled fine as long as the AC was off but then wouldn't start again a couple days later. Also, my cruise and traction control intermittently go out. He then cleaned the TB and it worked for a few more days until it wouldn't start again. He showed me how to reset out of limp home mode, which I did yesterday. Hasn't died yet and is working with AC on as well, but now we are trying to decide if I need a new throttle body or just a throttle position sensor.
Any advice on what he should do next? Also got the following codes P1334, P1312 and P1260 but don't know what they mean. Anyone know where to look up codes online for free? Or a site that offers cheap membership to do so?
Sorry for the lengthy post and thank you in advance for any help : )
