Interesting issue with the deadlock.
I've had issues before where if the car was locked with the fob, it can't be started, but never heard about this deadlock, where the car will start/run.
Is the key hole on the driver's side door stuck horizontal by any chance?
If the key is rotated and removed 'sideways' that locks the doors in a dead-lock scenario as well, and for example can't be unlocked on the passenger door with the key. If that's the case, you will find that the gas cap door is probably also locked shut (there's a little actuator that holds that locked closed when the car doors are locked)
I know about that one because if the car doesn't electrically unlock the other doors when I use the key, the gas cap can't open! I found the solution for that (at least in mine) is to turn the key fully sideways like you're performing the dead-lock situation, then fully back to unlocked. For some reason this lock in the door has issues for me in winter - now that it's below 32F in the morning, it doesn't always unlock all the doors for me, when I unlock the driver's door (you can hear an actuation and it unlocks all car doors if the electrical portion of the mechanism is engaged). Again, turning key fully to deadlock (90degrees clockwise) and then back through unlock usually 're-engages' this mechanism for me.
Best of luck!
