So I was at work the other night and my ignition decided to freeze up. It had been intermittently sticky ever since I bought the car and recently had given me some issue. I sprayed some lube down in the lock cylinder and that helped free it up a week or so ago, but now it is frozen solid. It is in the popped up position and when I insert the key it feels very loose like the key just slides in and out with ease, doesn't seem to have that typical resistance of feeling the pins and all that, so I'm guessing something broke inside the cylinder. Working on scouring the net for info on how to fix this but thought I should post up first for any help that can be offered. One very serious question I have is, can I just bypass the key somehow and install a push button starter or something?? Don't mind if it's a hack job honestly because this is just my pizza delivery car and I need it for work, don't mind having a cheap work around just so long as I can drive it for work!! Thanks!
