yeah,i figure 2K tops if car is ok otherwise. I have a beautiful '02 Vig 5door gray that I picked in New Mexico for $1500 a few years ago. Bad motor. Too bad really. Motor was the cleanest I have ever seen inside, amazing with 150K miles. Who ever took car of it was one of "us" cause engine looked new inside. No varnish, sludge, nothing..Best I can tell a bolt loosened up on one of the balance shaft sprockets, sprocket worked loose, chain jumped off, ground up in pieces, plugged oil pickup in pan, oil light came on, lady "thought she could go another few miles"..all done. cooked #3/4 crank journals/cylinder wall. Car has 200K on it now. 50 on rebuilt 234 based motor and just drives awesome and looks new. Would love to have a Vert as well, but don't see it happening. I am afraid the lady will let it go to parts despite the fact I told her its worth 1K tops for parts with a bad engine unless a Saab guy really needs it bad for particular things since the Red was not very common and hard to find used body panels that color.. I told her sell it whole or you will be sorry and make hardly any money back.
