Not trying to overload with information, but I've had one more important thought as I do searches and seem to find I've been complaining about this clutch problem here on saabnet more than I knew I had - about 30K miles after the "rebuild from hell".

Based on discussion with at least one expert, and given the dubious nature of the people who rebuilt the engine and replaced the clutch , I'm thinking there is a good chance they didn't replace the clutch properly , or more likely replaced the clutch parts with something incorrect or not full compatible with SAAB. I don't remember, but I don't believe I had the reverse problem until after the engine rebuild, and now I've had that for a long time where I always have to roll the car backwards to get it in reverse.

I'm pretty sure I remember seeing the old clutch plates, so I think they did replace it , but not sure with what, and not sure on the master or slave cylinders either. Again, I paid for replacement of all. At this point, what I need to figure out is what's wrong without this insane work of dropping the tranny, and basically disassembling the whole car.

I checked the black reservoir towards the front, and it is about half filled with fluid. Also checked the smaller white fluid reservoir closer to the firewall, and it was/is full. I can see some oil spray on engine just off the bell shaped housing up by the firewall. However, I'm not sure about any leaks as the car hasn't had oil marks in the driveway for some time, and fluid/oil levels seem again stable.
