The one thing overlooked is the hoses - the original exit hose is different, and of course the intake hose is completely new to you - once you have those then the HO intercooler pops right in (bumper removed)
The further problem you have with a 99 is the turbo points down, not forward 45degrees like later B205 turbos (including low output) so the intake hose for a 99HO is a SINGLE YEAR model piece to fit correctly, and they are on backorder! each hose is around 125 new, and rarely can you get them with the intercooler.
I have a set of the hoses as well as the intercooler I kept as spares but have never had a need for, might as well sell them if you are going to upgrade - just email me!
If you need help fitting otherwise let me know as well - I managed to cut up the original into pieces and with 5 extra clamps make it work with the HO intercooler but it was quite a feat and came apart more than once during driving while I perfected it - still works great on my old 97 900.
