Ok so I have an odd one that has me stumped at my knowledge level.
1998 9-3 2.0t auto
Car cranks but won't start. Checked the codes, main one was P0340 and a second level (though bat was dead) P1611 I'm told the P0340 is a Direct Cassette for the cam shaft position sensor. I tried my good spare red one no go and two good black ones no go. Here's the odd part. If I start with with starting fluid it'll run fine you can drive it etc, but the minute you shut it off back to no start just cranking. Spray her again she'll start right back up. I know atleast two of the DI's are fine. And as I'm explained the DI at key start sends a squirt of fuel then after the crank position sensor sees 500+ idle the car starts injecting fuel properly.. I'm assuming i'm not getting that inital squirt of fuel, But why on 4 seperate DI's????? HELP!
ALSO I cleared the codes and they haven't returned since the first test and I'm prob 10 seperate starts in and prob 15 min run time.
