Picked up a 2000 9-3 SE 2.0 (HO i Think) 147k miles
assumed engine was bad.
replaced bad oil cooler, got engine running, obvious knock
I had originally planned a total engine rebuild. Would anyone consider just throwing new bearings in it ( assuming no obvious crank/ rod damage?)
(cost $125.00)
or- pull the engine, have the head checked, valves ground, crank ground
new timing, bearings seals, (cost about $1000)
what is your thought process?
Thanks,
Rob
