Hmmm...I forgot about the tube. I think that is just to let water drain out that gets in when the antenna goes up and down in the rain. I can't remember for sure, but I *think* I just lef the tube connected and worked on the motor housing right there in the hatch....just spread out some newspapers to lay it on for opening up, etc.
